The world's leading Greek musician, Yanni, on Friday performed to a packed house at the Maraya Concert Hall, as part of the Winter at Tantora. The ten-week long activities are a celebration of heritage, cultural and artistic events inspired by the heritage of AlUla.
Yanni and his orchestra were broadcast live for the first time in his career, and he surprised the audience with a new song, written specially for Saudi Arabia. He dedicated the song ‘Dreams Come True’ to the people of the Kingdom.
“Saudi Arabia is a unique and truly inspiring place," said Yanni on stage, "I have been struck by nature here and taken on a journey through time to thousands of years ago.”
In addition to his new piece, Yanni played some of his most famous masterpieces, which have won international acclaim throughout his career.
Winter at Tantora Festival is held in AlUla, Saudi Arabia from December 20, 2018 to February 23, 2019. It includes heritage, cultural and artistic activities inspired by the heritage of AlUla, the home of important heritage sites in the north of the Arabian Peninsula and is the meeting point of many civilizations throughout the ages. Every weekend, the Festival will host artistic events and concerts by world-renowned artists who made their mark in the field of Arab and international art.
