Diaverum Opens Its First Renal Care Centre in Muscat, Sultanate of Oman

Leading global renal care provider Diaverum in local partnership with Mustafa Sultan Science & Industry (MSSI) Co. LLC is opening its first renal dialysis clinic in the Sultanate of Oman in Bausher, Muscat. The new facility will provide renal care to 84 patients, thus delivering lifesaving treatment to an increasing number of kidney patients in Oman.

With the increasing prevalence of diabetes and hypertension in Oman, the number of renal failure patients is rapidly growing. For patients who cannot undergo a kidney transplant, there is no alternative apart from dialysis. At Diaverum clinic these patients will receive first-class dialysis care with the highest quality and safety standards and state-of-the-art equipment in a pleasant, comfortable and modern environment, while being attended to by the Diaverum staff trained at the d.ACADEMY, a state-of-the art education programme that ensures highest education level.

On this occasion Eng. Ziyad Kabli, Middle East Managing Director, said: “To stay true to our commitment of caring for more renal patients in the Middle East, Diaverum first clinic in Oman is now open and ready to treat patients. Our goal is to make our patients feel revitalised after their treatment in order to live a life as normal as possible and at the same time complement the efforts of the government in the provision of quality health services in the sultanate.”

Introducing new quality and safety standards in Oman

Diaverum offers well established practice based on comprehensive Policies and Procedures, while centrally defined and locally tailored standards of care are the basis for high quality of care. All employees are versatile in dealing with any given situation, from meeting a patient for the first time to dealing with an emergency situation. The policies and procedures also serve to ensure compliance with international and national standards and to enhance efficiency and reliability. They are continuously updated to reflect the latest advances in terms of regulatory changes and scientific discoveries. The Clinic Evaluation Tool, which has been created centrally by the corporate Medical Office, is used to perform internal audits of all kidney centres at least once a year, ensuring that policies and procedures are correctly practiced. Most importantly, these activities result in efficient operations which ultimately benefit the patients. After recognising unparalleled standards, in compliance with the Oman government’s requirements, the Ministry of Health granted Diaverum its license to operate in May 2016

A warm and friendly atmosphere

The clinic reflects Diaverum’s core values — competent, passionate and inspiring — as well as the company’s European roots, the international feel, a positive and family ambiance. This is all geared towards securing patient well-being and satisfaction. The clinic is divided into four areas – customer welcoming area, customer treatment area, staff area and technical facilities – and each area is equipped differently to reflect its diverse functions. With this approach, Diaverum has created a warm environment, rather than ‘cold’ hospital feel, providing patients with a revitalising experience.

Enabling renal patient to take a revitalizing vacation

As a private entity recognised for its continuous efforts to improve the quality of life for renal patients worldwide, Diaverum also offers Holiday Dialysis where treatment can be facilitated at any of our dialysis centres in 20 countries worldwide for any patient wishing to take a revitalising vacation. This way our patients can receive the same quality of service as back home, regardless where they are. With the opening of the clinic in Bausher, Muscat, Oman has joined the list of Holiday Dialysis countries and will be able to offer to renal failure patients memorable holidays at the Arabian Peninsula known for its warm weather, beautiful mountain landscape, greenery and beaches, but most of all the friendly and welcoming Omanis.
