Choueiri Group renewed its Title Sponsorship of the Dubai Corporate Games for the 8th consecutive year, as the 10th edition of the premier corporate sporting event kicked off on the weekend of March 13- 14, 2015.
The event’s now staple American University in Dubai (AUD) campus venue featured prominently once again to host the occasion with its sporting facilities, catering to the vast majority of the tournaments. The event, as always, extended a unique opportunity for the corporate community to compete in a fun-filled multisport environment, with the aim of promoting comradery, wellness and a healthier lifestyle. This year also marked the 10th anniversary of the Games and featured a distinctly celebratory look and feel, complete with a welcoming gate where notable images and memorabilia from tournaments held over the last decade were prominently displayed. The 2015 games also served as the biggest and best yet, welcoming a record breaking number of participating teams and athletes, while hosting a greater number of tournaments than ever before. These included the newest addition Bowling (Held at the Dubai Bowling Center), Kart Racing, Golf, Dragon Boat Racing, Cricket, Badminton, Football, Basketball, Volleyball, Tennis, Squash, Table Tennis, Swimming, Running, Tug of War, Backgammon, PlayStation and Baby Foot. Making it a true family affair, a Choueiri Group sponsored mini-pitch (Initially introduced last year) was also set up to host a variety of supervised sporting activities for kids (Toddlers to 16 years of age). Choueiri Group’s vibrant teams and athletes (Assembled from the Group’s regional offices, including Dubai and Beirut) participated across all major tournaments, with the Group’s usual dedicated lounge and hospitality area welcoming friends, family-members, fans and supporters throughout the weekend. After numerous notable performances, the Group’s supporters and athletes took to the awards podium, to collect the following honors: Majid Traboulsi, Omar Moukachar and Salem Salem respectively won #1, # 2 and #3 in Men’s Kart Racing, while Carmen Tannoury and Touline Shuhrouri respectively placed #2 and #3 in the Women’s Kart Racing competition. Paul Abou Chacra won the #1 prize for Golf, while Patrick Chucri picked up the #2 trophy for Men’s Tennis Singles. On the team front, Choueiri Group’s Tug of War team won the #2 award, while the Group also collected a trophy for #5 Overall. Choueiri Group’s Chairman and CEO, Pierre Choueiri who attended the event on both days with his teams and athletes, elaborated on Choueiri Group’s long-standing association with the Games by stating that “Our title sponsorship of the Dubai Corporate Games reflects on the values which we share with this event.
