CENTRO SHARJAH SUPPORTS HARRISON’S FUND CAMPAIGN

As we continue to chart our way into the year, Centro Sharjah is dedicating this month towards supporting Harrison’s Fund, the fundraising organisation that has one goal, to get as much money as possible into the hands of the world's best researchers, who are working to find a cure for Duchenne. To know further Log on to www.harrisonsfund.com
Harrison’s Fund is named after the son of Alex and Donna Smith who was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy which is an X-linked disease that affects 1 in every 2400 boys approximately, worldwide. Most patients are diagnosed at approximately 5 years of age, when their physical ability diverges markedly from that of their peers. Their muscle strength deteriorates, and boys require the use of a wheelchair before their teens. Respiratory, orthopedic, and cardiac complications emerge, and without intervention, the mean age at death is around 19 years.
“Centro Sharjah will continue to extend its long drawn support towards the noble cause and like last year we hope to make a valuable contribution” said Michael Kasch, General Manager. “This year we’ve chalked down exciting activities which will be underway at the hotel site, collectively involving guests and colleagues to create awareness” he explained.
Let’s march this march towards a noble cause:
Save the date 5th March, 2015 at 5 PM
Guests and colleagues collectively, will be participating in a walkathon around Centro Sharjah covering a distance of 1.2 Km; Each participant will make a valuable contribution in the end.
