Cambridge Medical and Rehabilitation Center’s Dubai facility opens its doors with carefully tailored rehabilitation and support programs

Cambridge Medical and Rehabilitation Center (CMRC), the UAE’s leading rehabilitation and long-term care facility, has opened the doors of its new medical facility in Dubai’s Motor City to offer the community a raft of tailored rehabilitation and physiotherapy programs.

CMRC’s new Motor City facility is designed help outpatients, in particular, special needs children, make large improvements in their quality of life through multidisciplinary intensive rehabilitation, physiotherapy, and personalized, bespoke clinical care.

The Center offers three distinct routes for children with physical and learning difficulties to ensure the best fit between their unique needs and programs designed to international standards and care guidelines.

The early intervention Sunflower Program is molded to the needs of infants between 0-3 years of age. It is tailored around children with a history of prenatal, perinatal or postnatal complications, congenital abnormalities or trauma in early life that could conceivably result in developmental delays.

Our second program on offer, for young children between 4-16 years of age, is designed to assist children with neurological, orthopedic, and musculoskeletal issues. The program continues the foundations laid by the Sunflower program to facilitate young patients with chronic health needs or movement disorders requiring specialist therapeutic management.

Finally, a transitional care program helps young adults aged 16 and above make the transition to adulthood while providing ongoing care, clinical support, and management. The program serves as a gateway to independent living, higher education opportunities, and a shift to adult care services.

“At CMRC, our services are designed to extend world-class medical expertise and support that enable every single child achieve maximum physical and cognitive development. We knit an integrated system of support around each young patient, and involve their families in the rehabilitation process. We also help integrate children into their homes and the wider community, while helping them adjust to a changing self-image. We believe that the best approach to rehabilitation is through exceptional medical expertise combined with love, care and social integration,” said CMRC CEO Dr. Howard Podolsky.

CMRC’s Motor City facility is taking the lead in community outreach programs to schools in the area. The Center is also offering rehab training and education to families, teachers, personal caregivers and special needs assistants.

The Center is liaising with health, therapeutic and educational authorities to reach out to young people in their local communities for maximum support. Doctors, families and patients interested in the new offering can call 800-CMRC for further information and support.

CMRC was launched by private equity investor TVM Capital Healthcare in 2012, and has partnered with the world class Spaulding Rehabilitation Network, a Harvard Medical School Teaching Affiliate. The center has also received accreditation by Joint Commission International, the oldest and largest standards-setting healthcare body in the world.

“At CMRC, we are committed to making a difference to standards of rehabilitation in the UAE, and working towards delivering long-term care that makes a genuine difference in the lives of our patient communities. While we think globally in our expertise and standards, we recognize that the services we provide are highly personal and need the full involvement of families and local communities. With its emphasis on happiness, quality of life and sustainable healthcare, the UAE’s leadership serves as an inspiration for us to make a difference,” commented CMRC Board Member Adel Al Zarouni.

The new facility is CMRC’s third in the UAE, and joins a network of branches already offering expert inpatient and outpatient rehabilitative care in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain.
