Bahri, a global leader in transportation and logistics, participates in the 1st International Symposium and Exhibition on Land and Maritime Border Security and Safety (Challenges and Solutions), where the company is reinforcing its commitment to the long-term growth of Saudi’s transportation sector.
The event is taking place at Jeddah Hilton Hotel from 15 – 19 October, 2017, under the patronage of His Royal Highness, Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Interior.
Bahri Logistics, a business unit of Bahri and one of the top 10 breakbulk carriers in the world, is one of the key entities in focus at the event that provides the industry with a strategic forum where global experts and business leaders shared knowledge and exchanged ideas. Organized by the General Directorate of Saudi Border Guards, Ministry of Interior, Saudi Arabia, the symposium was organized with the aim of enhancing land and maritime border security and safety at national, regional, and international levels.
Abdulaziz Sabri, Vice President, Bahri Ship Management, said: “Bahri’s participation in these high-profile events enables us to continuously align our business objectives with industry developments and trends, increase awareness, further strengthen our relationships with industry players, as well as explore new horizons of growth.”
“As a knowledge-sharing platform, the event gives us a valuable opportunity to be part of the dialogue on the safety and security of maritime border security, and learn from the experiences and insights of other global powerhouses in the maritime sector, as we continue to work our way towards strengthening Saudi’s position as one of the key regional and global transportation and logistics gateways,” Sabri added.
Bahri Logistics operates state-of-the-art multipurpose vessels on a regular liner schedule. Backed by 37 years of heritage and a fleet uniquely designed to carry multiple types of cargo in a single voyage, Bahri Logistics is the leading direct full liner service provider from U.S. East and Gulf Coast ports and Canada to Jeddah, Dubai, Dammam and Mumbai, including wayport calls along the liner service route in the Mediterranean and Europe.
Consistently recognized for its exceptional performance and unparalleled contributions to the industry, Bahri has received numerous regional and international awards during its 39 successful years in the business.
A ISO-9001 and ISO-14001 certified company, Bahri’s safety and quality standards are benchmarks for the global maritime transportation industry. The company places the highest priority on safety, quality and environmental protection, and as a reflection of its dedication in constantly innovating technology towards achieving its goals, it was awarded the prestigious United States Coast Guard’s QUALSHIP 21 status, a recognition given only to vessels that meet the most stringent quality and safety standards, in 2016.
Bahri joins an elite group of operators – less than 10% of the ships that call at US ports meet QUALSHIP 21 eligibility requirements – to have achieved the coveted certification, which aims to identify and acknowledge high-quality foreign-flagged vessels operating in the United States and provide incentives to encourage quality operations.
The company’s Total Recordable Case Frequency (TRCF) is less than 40%, and Port State Control (PSC) deficiencies are only 40% of the industry benchmark.
