AviLease, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Public Investment Fund (PIF), delivered two Boeing 737-8 aircraft to Air India Express.
These two aircraft are the first in a batch of six that will be delivered by AviLease to the airline in 2024 and 2025, AviLease said in a statement.
Edward O’Byrne, CEO, AviLease, said that AviLease fulfils PIF’s mandate to unlock the capabilities of priority sectors that can support the diversification of Saudi Arabia’s economy and contribute to non-oil GDP growth.
This order forms part of the lessor’s ongoing aim to supply airlines with efficient leasing and financing services across the world, and follows another recent delivery of four A321neos to Colorado-based low-fare airline, Frontier.
