Faculty members, officials and students from American University of Sharjah (AUS) will welcome visitors to the university’s pavilion at the Gulf Education and Training Exhibition (GETEX) that will commence on April 17, 2019. Held under the patronage of the United Arab Emirates Ministry of Education, the exhibition will run for three days and will be held at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Center.
At this year’s event, the AUS pavilion will feature a dedicated desk staffed by scholarship officers who will be available to discuss the various financial aid and scholarship opportunities offered at AUS to incoming students. As a not-for-profit institution, AUS seeks to ensure that financial means do not become a hindrance for qualified students to get the best education they deserve. All students are encouraged to apply for financial aid and assistance, regardless of their race, gender, religion or national origin. AUS offers a wide range of grants, scholarships and work-study opportunities to help students finance their education.
The pavilion will also boast a range of special features aimed at inviting potential students, their parents and other interested visitors to get a feel for the AUS student experience through an interactive 360 Google Earth tour of AUS, as well as an interactive guide to student life at AUS.
Speaking about the university’s participation at the event, Dr. Juan Sanchez, Provost and Chief Academic Officer of AUS, said:
“At AUS, we are committed to ensuring that the brightest young minds in the country are provided every opportunity to pursue their dreams. A good education is the best investment one can make in one’s future, and we do our best to make sure that this investment bears fruit. We look forward to welcoming students to our pavilion at GETEX and introducing our university and the many excellent undergraduate and graduate programs we offer.”
As one of the leading student recruitment events in the region, GETEX attracts over 35,000 local and expatriate students who are looking for university education, professional development and training. This year AUS will be one of more than 80 universities taking part at the exhibition.
