ARAB WOMAN AWARDS UAE ANNOUNCES ILLUSTRIOUS PANEL OF JUDGES FOR 2015 EDITION

The Arab Woman Awards UAE’s organisers have finalised an illustrious panel of female judges for the Awards’ 2015 edition. The awards aim to raise public awareness of significant achievements by Arab women in the region and provide young women with inspirational role models. Nominations for participants are open to the public up to September 20th on the Awards’ website.  To be eligible for an award, nominees should be female, of Arab descendant, and must have contributed positively to the UAE either in economic, social or cultural areas.

 

The judges selected to the panel and who will have the final say in choosing the winners, are influencers, business leaders and women of note who have blazed new trails across a diversity of fields including business, fashion, entrepreneurship, charity, media, government and literature. 

 

Chairperson of the Sharjah Businesswoman Council and honorary Chairperson of the Arab Woman Awards UAE Judges Board HE Ameera Bin Karam resumes her duties for the 2015 awards. Owner of the SME Advisory Group Nadine Y. Maalouf reprises her role as judge after a successful 2014 stint, as does CEO and board member of Noor Dubai Foundation Dr Manal Taryam.

 

Other judges on the 2015 panel include; Director at the Office of Strategic Affairs in the Abu Dubai Crown Prince Court Dr Mona Hammami, Partner at Abraaj Group Huda Al Lawati, Partner at Leap Ventures Noor Sweid, prominent Emirati artist Najat Makki and Editor of Hello! Arabia Gina Tadros.

 

Awards Founder and Executive Director of ITP Consumer Sue Holt said, “We are very proud of quality of the Judges Panel for the 2015 Awards. The strength of the bench is a testament to the reach and influence of the Arab Woman Awards. This year, we were inspired by the number of influential, successful women that we could select as part of an exceptional panel of judges.”

 

First launched by the region’s leading publishing company ITP, the Arab Woman Awards offer a culturally accepted platform to raise public awareness of the significant achievements of Arab women across the GCC, and provide positive role models for young women. Over ten years, the Awards aim to fete over 500 talented and inspirational Arab women. 

 

Started in Dubai, the Awards now hold regular annual private invitation-only ceremonies in the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA).
