AP GOLF AMBASSADORS DREAM TEAM GROWS STRONGER

Audemars Piguet golf Ambassador Danny Willett won in style his fourth career title in Dubai: on the last green, with a 12-foot putt for glory. The one-shot advantage with which Danny started the day was erased at the last hole by two competitors. He managed to perfectly read the line to hole a birdie putt. Winning one of the European Tour’s big tournaments propelled him to the world’s 13th rank. Audemars Piguet’s presence in the golfing world continues to grow with the addition of three young talented players under its wing.

Byeong Hun An was named “Rookie of the Year” on the European Tour in 2015, a milestone year. Born in Seoul in 1991, he moved to Florida at 14 to perfect his unique powerful style and became the youngest winner of the US Amateur Championship at 17. His career break-through victory came at the BMW PGA Championship in May 2015 where “Ben” made a huge impression on observers. With his engaging smile, the South Korean has continued his rise since, with six Top 10 finishes in his last seven tournaments.

Emiliano Grillo has that touch of style that only Argentinians possess and is unquestionably part of the future of international golf. One could sense his burgeoning potential since his first swings of the club at the age of five. This young man with his blond locks and clear gaze had just joined the elite of the PGA Tour in October 2015 when he made a name for himself. Emiliano’s incredible drive and competitor’s mentality enabled him to win his very first tournament at the Frys.com Open in California.

Renato Paratore‘s golfing talent appears boundless, without the slightest exaggeration. In 2014 as a 17 year old, he enjoyed a stunning string of successes, winning five events as an amateur, including the Orange Bowl Junior in Miami and the gold medal at the Youth Olympic Games in China. He then claimed his first professional title at his native Italian National Championship and joined the European Tour at the end of that year. In July 2015, the teenager surprised everyone by becoming the first player in the history of the French Open, to score a four on every single one of the 18 holes.

Danny, Ben, Emiliano and Renato are part of the Audemars Piguet Dream Team of golf ambassadors composed of Keegan Bradley, Darren Clarke, Victor Dubuisson, Miguel Ángel Jiménez, Louis Oosthuizen, Ian Poulter, Henrik Stenson, Peter Uihlein, Lee Westwood and Bernd Wiesberger. Individually and together, they embody Audemars Piguet’s brand philosophy “To break the rules, you must first master them”.
