Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal, chairman of Kingdom Holding Company (KHC), received Norihiro Okuda, Japanese ambassador to Saudi Arabia, at his office in Riyadh.
The envoy was accompanied by Katsuhiko Takahashi, minister and deputy chief of mission, and Shusuke Saito, first secretary, economic and commercial section. The meeting was also attended by Hassna Alturki, executive manager for international relations to the chairman, and Ahmed Altobaishi, executive assistant to the chairman.
During the meeting, the two discussed various issues on the investment and economic fronts. On the agenda of discussions were also social and investment issues and the bilateral economic relationship between their respective countries.
Also, during the meeting, the ambassador extended an invitation to the prince to visit and explore investment opportunities in Japan through KHC. In response, the prince promised to visit in the near future.
Prince Alwaleed’s investment in Japan through KHC includes the Four Seasons Hotel Tokyo at Chinzan-so, Four Seasons Hotel Tokyo at Marunouchi, Swissotel Nankai Osaka, Citigroup, Tokyo Disneyland, and News Corporation. The Prince’s last visit to Japan was in 2007.
In 2011, Alwaleed Philanthropies that is chaired by Prince Alwaleed, made a donation for much needed relief aid for the earthquake victims of Japan, in coordination with the Japanese Red Cross.
