Alula FM becomes first radio station to be featured on Saudia’s inflight entertainment system.

The Royal Commission for AlUla (RCU) has implemented a partnership with Saudia, the national flag carrier of Saudi Arabia, to display digital content from AlUla FM as part of the airline’s inflight entertainment system, Beyond.

 

Signed by Abdulrahman Altrairi, Chief Communications and PR Officer and Official spokesperson for the Royal Commission for AlUla and Khaled Tash, Saudia’s Group Chief Marketing Officer, the agreement expands AlUla FM's reach with a new platform to raise awareness and understanding of AlUla among visitors, travellers, and those interested in Saudi Arabia’s cultural heritage.

 

 AlUla FM became the first radio station to be available on Saudia flights as part of the airline's in-flight entertainment system. This is a significant milestone for the growth of AlUla FM as an audio platform.

Our new agreement promotes cultural heritage, RCU partnership network and invites new audiences to join in the expansion of AlUla as a global destination and AlUla FM as an audio platform. RCU bridges the past with the present and merges tradition with innovation to ensure AlUla travelers stories resonate for generations to come.”

 

Saudia adopted the Beyond inflight entertainment system to transform the airline’s onboard experience further. The Beyond system provides a high-quality interactive experience with up to 5,000 hours of content suitable for various guest preferences and age groups in more than 16 languages.

AlUla FM reflects RCU's commitment to supporting various programmes and initiatives within a modern media context aligning with the development of the Saudi media system. Moreover, it highlights the various objectives of AlUla’s vision, in line with Saudi Vision 2030.

 

Since RCU officially launched AlUla FM under the slogan ‘The Sound of Arabia’, the audio platform has provided a forum for the voices of AlUla to share their stories with a global audience on recurring and seasonal programmes.

 

Saudia operates 32 weekly roundtrip flights from AlUla to major Saudi cities like Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, as well as international destinations like Paris. Boasting a combined seat capacity exceeding 4,400 seats.
