In line with the vision of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to promote government work and enhance competiveness to be at par with the most innovative governments around the world, Ajman Tourism Development Department (ATDD) announced its participation in the UAE Innovation Week 2016, as a supporting sponsor of the Tourism Innovation and Transformation Forum held in Dubai, under the patronage of H.E. Sultan Bin Saeed Al Mansouri, Minister of Economy in the UAE.
ATDD presented on this platform the Policy Guide and Smart Training project to share its experiences in the field of innovation with the public, besides presenting a special website ‘pin happiness’ showing the map of happy people in UAE.
The ATDD set up a committee which consists of an innovation team work, and launched a policy guide and smart training project that coincides with the UAE Innovation Week that will be held from 20 to 26 November, 2016.
The team work was keen to implement the initiatives suggested by the committee and presented them to the employees of the department and stakeholders in order to take their opinions and requirements, and then to list in the smart applications. The policy guide initiative aims to introduce the specialized fields, goals and strategic plan of the department to the employees and stakeholders through a trusted electronic informative source, which is easily accessible. The training initiative also aims to implement a smart electronic application that includes an overall training and specialization package which will help the employees to attend the training courses at any time and place they find it convenient, through modern and developed methods.
HE Faisal Al Nuaimi, General Manager of ATDD, highlighted that the department is keen to support and implement the innovation and creativity initiatives in various sectors, and that all the employees and team work are all committed to implement the national strategy of the United Arab Emirates in the field of innovation policy. Al Nuaimi also pointed out that the department has already and still implementing a number of initiatives, workshops and brainstorming workshops that support and promote the innovation policy and merge them with the overall strategy of the emirate and the country. He also praised the launch of the policies guide and smart training project launched by the department innovation committee.
Besides, the members of the committee ensured their keenness to reflect the leadership vision, strategy and recommendations into initiatives and work projects which promote the innovation policy in the department and the community as a whole.
