Ajman expects tourism boost from UK market

The Ajman tourism delegation concluded its successful participation in this year’s World Travel Market (WTM), with majority of the participants expecting an improved tourist arrivals from the UK market this tourist season and in 2017.

 

Participants received encouraging feedback from visitors and decision makers from the travel and tourism industry who attended the three-day exhibition at London ExCel.

 

Khaled S. Al-Idrissi, Cluster Director of Sales and Marketing, Fairmont Ajman noted that discussions focused around contracts in 2017 and the ability to approach a joint marketing effort. “It was a very useful show which affords us the opportunity to meet with our partners from within the UK market and negotiate our tactical plans on a B2B basis. Though our focus was on our main feeder market from UK, we have seen the emergence of a few accounts that we were not working on previously,” he added.

 

Albert Meow, Director of Sales and Marketing of the soon-to-open The Oberoi, Al Zorah, commented that visitors expressed great interests in the opening date of the resort, the services and its luxurious facilities. “We take pride in our ability to come together and work as a team to promote tourism in the emirate of Ajman. Our participation this year reflects our determination to further expand our reach and maintain a solid international presence to promote Ajman’s tourism sector,” he added.

 

HE Faisal Al Nuaimi, General Manager of Ajman Tourism Development Department, said: “We had an extremely successful participation and were glad to connect and meet with our international partners and associates. Every year we are seeing new interests for Ajman as a touristic destination and more visitors are curious to learn about what we can offer to family, groups, companies and individual travellers. We are optimistic that arrivals from the UK market will increase this tourist season and also from other markets in the coming years. As we strive to create a safe and friendly destination for both residents and visitors of Ajman, we will continue strengthening our partnership and share our objectives for driving the business forward together.”

 

The Ajman delegation stand showcased upcoming tourism projects in the emirate including the new touristic restaurant complex being constructed in Ajman Marina and a new shopping and entertainment complex, next to Ajman Fish Market. The ajman.travel destination website and the Ajman mobile application were highly publicized during the three-day exhibition and a big screen displayed the many activities and attractions present in the emirate for both leisure and business travellers.

 

The Ajman delegation included Ajman Saray, Fairmont Ajman, Sabsan Travel & Tourism, Musandam Sea Adventure Travel & Tourism and Travel Center, SNTTA Emir Tours and The Oberoi Al Zorah.
