With the focus of increasing the number of visitors in 2017 by 20%, and following the remarkable growth of tourists from Europe to Ajman, the Ajman Tourism Development Department (ATDD) has embarked on a six-city roadshow to Germany to promote the emirate as a premier destination.
The four-day Germany tour from October 24 to 27 started in Munich and will be followed by cities of Duisburg, Hanover, Frankfurt, Oberursel and Baden Baden.
The ATDD delegation was headed by HE Faisal Al Nuaimi, General Manager of ATDD, along with Yamina Aoucher, Director of Tourism Development & Marketing Department, Shamsa Mubarak, Promotion Executive and co-participants from Ajman Saray, Fairmont Ajman and Musandam Sea Adventures Travel & Tourism.
Aimed at attracting a bigger share of the German market, the delegation met Diemtar Gunz, CEO & Founder of FTI Group, one of the largest tour operators in Germany and Roula Jouny, CEO at FTI Group, Meeting Point & You Travel.
Following the meeting with FTI Group, Al Nuaimi said: “We are keen to meet with the key players in the travel and tourism industry in Germany and discuss the latest developments in the sector. We are happy to explore a new cooperation with FTI Group and we look forward to increase our arrivals from Germany by strengthening our partnership and we are confident that these meetings will help spread the word about our Emirate's unique selling points, rich offerings and stunning natural and cultural surroundings.”
Hotels in Ajman recorded around 70,000 guests from Europe during the first half of the year, around 40% of them are from Germany.
Roula Jouny also described the prospects of developing tourism in Ajman is highly promising and Germany tour operators will be very excited to cooperate with the Emirate in highly standards.
A number of meetings and interactions will also be held in the coming days to discuss special deals with heads and representatives of other major tour operators, including meetings with Rene Herzog CEO Central Europe DER Touristik Group, Germany’s market leader in travel agency sales and TUI, a multinational travel and tourism company headquartered in Hannover.
ATDD will also meet L’TUR, a last minute tour operator based in Baden-Baden as well as Thomas Cook. Other tour operators that ATDD scheduled a meeting with are Sven Ickstadt, Managing director of Binoli travel services for Berlin Holidays, Lufthansa Holidays, Swiss Holidays and HLX.
