Saudia Dairy & Foodstuff Company (SADAFCO) is extending aid to countries across the Middle East. The aid, constituting contributions of money and foodstuffs is part of SADAFCO’s dedicated strategy to support COVID-19 relief efforts in the wake of devastating economic impact of the virus.
SADAFCO recently committed SR 10 million in support of the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Health’s Health Endowment Fund, cementing its commitment to backing national health efforts towards the fight against the pandemic.
SADAFCO extended its support to relief efforts across the Middle East. The contributions include JD 100,000 worth of food products to organisations in Jordan; SR 1 million worth of direct funds and food products in Bahrain and SR 1 million worth of food products in Kuwait.
Wout Matthijs, CEO of SADAFCO, said: “This a challenging time for many families across the region as they deal with the sizeable economic challenges created by the COVID-19 pandemic. Our objective is to work with and provide support to organisations that are able to identify and reach out to those most in need and to assist organizations and government funds that support the health heroes to fight this pandemic.”
The new initiatives reflect SADAFCO’s strong commitment to the principle of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and programmes that support social harmony and community wellbeing. The initiatives are particularly welcome at a time when many families are dealing with a loss of income and compromised livelihoods as a result of COVID-19.
