ACWA Power launches partial commercial ops at Sirdarya IPP in Uzbekistan

ACWA Power Co. received, on April 2, a notification from the Sirdarya combined cycle gas-turbine (CCGT) Independent Power Project (IPP) confirming achieving partial commercial operation following the receipt of the Commercial Operation Certificate from the National Electric Grid of Uzbekistan.

In a statement to Tadawul, the company said that with this additional capacity of 461 megawatts (MW), the total online capacity under commercial operation reached 918 MW out of the 1,500 MW total plant capacity.

ACWA Power owns a 51% stake in the Sirdarya CCGT IPP, located in Shirin in the Sirdarya region of Uzbekistan.

The company expects the financial impact of the operation will be reflected from Q2 2024 onwards.
