ACWA Power gets commercial operation certificate for Abu Dhabi’s Al Taweelah IWP

ACWA Power Co. received on March 12 a commercial operation certificate from Emirates Water and Electricity Co. (EWEC) for Al Taweelah Reverse Osmosis Independent Water Plant (IWP) in Abu Dhabi, according to a statement to Tadawul.

Desalinated water production capacity increased by 75,920 cubic meters per day. This is in addition to the first phase, which began commercial operations on June 9, 2022, with a production capacity of 454,610 cubic meters per day, and the second phase, which began operations on April 25, 2023, with a capacity of 378,690 cubic meters per day.

ACWA Power owns a 40% stake in the project, the statement said, adding that the relevant financial impact is expected to appear as of Q4 2024.
