The Abu Dhabi Festival co-production of Grammy-winning mezzo-soprano Joyce DiDonato’s ‘Eden,’ which seeks to restore humanity’s connection to the natural world, continues its world tour as part of the 20th edition of Abu Dhabi Festival held under the theme ‘The Will for Evolution’ with a performance at the Megatron in Athens, Greece last Tuesday, May 30th.
The world tour kicked off in 2022 with the world premiere taking place at the world-famous Bozar in Belgium followed by performances in major cities across Europe and North America. The tour continues to captivate audiences with performances scheduled throughout the summer stopping at major cities including Madrid, Barcelona, Dresden, Toulouse, Lisbon and more.
In collaboration with the illustrious Italian orchestra "Il Pomo d'Oro," founded in 2012 and renowned for their authentic and dynamic interpretations of Baroque and Classical works, DiDonato embarks on a remarkable musical journey. Directed by the visionary Marie Lambert, this immersive performance showcases a selection of exquisite operatic pieces, demonstrating the power of the arts to transcend borders and foster cultural connections.
Last Tuesday’s performance at Athens’ Megaron Palace of Music mesmerised audiences and will be followed by equally unforgettable performance at the Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian in Lisbon, Portugal, on the 2nd of June. On the 5th of June, DiDonato graces the stage of Madrid's esteemed Teatro Real, before captivating audiences at the Palau de la Música Catalana in Barcelona on the 6th of June. Continuing the tour, Toulouse welcomes the performance at the renowned Halle aux Grains theatre on the 8th of June.
