Abu Dhabi Airports participates in Bahrain International Air Show

Abu Dhabi Airports today announced its participation at the Bahrain International Air Show, held November 14 – 16 at the Sakhir Airbase, where it is set to exhibit alongside partners at the UAE national pavilion. Abu Dhabi Airports took part in the event alongside key local stakeholders.

Commenting on Abu Dhabi Airports’ participation at the Middle East’s fastest growing airshow, CEO Bryan Thompson said: “Abu Dhabi now serves as a remarkable global example in providing air transport services that meet the highest international standards. Abu Dhabi Airports’ participation in the Bahrain International Air Show comes as part of our commitment to enhancing and bolstering our leading status in the air transport sector.

“Our participation alongside key partners allows us to raise awareness about the astonishing developments being realized throughout Abu Dhabi in the aviation sector and related areas. Our participation here over the course of three days serves to highlight the pivotal role that the air transport and aerospace sector play in contributing to the national economy, which has been achievable thanks to joint cooperation and support across local authorities.”

During the Bahrain International Air Show, Abu Dhabi Airports will showcase its progress in the development of the Midfield Terminal Building, which will accommodate an additional 45 million passengers annually.

Thompson added: “Throughout our participation at the Air Show, we will showcase our achievements and expertise that has allowed us to drive the development of the air transport sector in the UAE. Since its establishment, Abu Dhabi International Airport has been a cornerstone of aviation excellence in the country.”

In 2017, Abu Dhabi International Airport (AUH) was named ‘Best Airport in the Middle East’ by the Airport Service Quality Awards for the second consecutive year. AUH has also prioritized sustainability, and last year became the first airport in the region to sign the Airports Sustainability Declaration.

The Abu Dhabi Airports CEO concluded: “Our participation in leading global aviation and air transport events such as Bahrain International Air Show provides valuable opportunities to build strategic partnerships with key stakeholders around the world. The Bahrain International Air Show gathers international leaders in the sector and industry, and our participation here today is in line with our vision to become the leading airports group in the world.”
