Absher platform saves SAR 23B on digital transformation: Alsuwaiyan

Ahmed Alsuwaiyan, Governor of the Digital Government Authority, said that digital transformation has empowered government agencies in Saudi Arabia with more productivity, efficiency and experience, indicating that by using the “Absher” platform, more than SAR 23 billion have been saved, and there is no longer a need to visit branches and departments of the Ministry of Interior.

Addressing the Digital Government Forum 2023, held in Riyadh today, Dec. 19, Alsuwaiyan said that the time needed for licensing and reviews has been reduced by 95%, and the time for issuing visas has been reduced from 48 hours to only 60 seconds at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Thanks to digital transformation, 62% of payments have become electronic, exceeding the targets of the Financial Sector Development Program. In addition, 94% of adults in the Kingdom currently own bank accounts or electronic wallets, which shows the Kingdom’s progress in financial inclusion, he stated.
