29 festivals planned across KSA

The Tourism Development Councils in partnership with the Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities (SCTA) will be organizing various programs in 29 regions across the Kingdom during the school break that starts next week.
According to an SCTA official, the commission and its partners are prepared for the festivals which include social events, heritage, sports and recreational programs in addition to many cultural activities that will entertain all segments of society.
The SCTA said that the partnership has yielded unique tourism festivals and events which are becoming increasingly attractive to local tourists.
Outlining the programs, the official said that the Makkah region will host three festivals: the historical Jeddah Festival, Souk Okaz Festival and the Spring Festival in Taif.
Al-Madinah region will also organize three festivals; the Flower Festival, Yanbu wild festival and Al-Ola event.
Qassim will have seven festivals including the Spring Festival in Buraidah, the Spring Festival in Al-Shamasiah and the Spring Festival in Rass.
Riyadh will hold the “Discover Riyadh” exhibition while the Tabuk region will host the Safari Festival.
The SCTA said that it operates through its branch offices in these areas to support tourism development and other partners in organizing the events which will contribute to domestic tourism during the mid-year break.
The SCTA also provides media, technical and financial support to the organizing committee to hold these programs in addition to regulating the media programs.
The commission seeks to target domestic tourists to invest in its activities and programs during the short vacation and encourage citizens and residents to visit the Kingdom’s various regions and enjoy the tourism events.
