Natuzzi Italia announces participation in Dubai Design Week 2022

Pasquale Junior Natuzzi will reveal the brand’s principles in his speech

On the occasion of the Dubai Design Week 2022, Natuzzi Italia, the Italian design brand that unites a highly international calling with a deeply Mediterranean identity, announces its participation in Downtown Design, the Middle East’s leading design fair that will take place between 9-12 November at Dubai Design District.

Committed to safeguarding the Mediterranean and a continuous search for bio-compatible interior solutions, Pasquale Junior Natuzzi, the Chief Creative Officer of Natuzzi Italia will reveal the company’s principles in his speech at the festival, and celebrate The Circle of Harmony – Second Life, the initiative that promotes the idea of ethical and aesthetic sustainability according to Natuzzi Italia.

Second Life is the new concept collection within The Circle of Harmony, the project born in 2019 to establish an ideal space that accommodates various creative interpretations of Natuzzi Italia's DNA. An ideal space to celebrate the brand's distinguishing values: "harmony," as an element symbolically evoked by the image of a circle intimately linked to the idea of the "Mediterranean", which inspires the brand’s new collections.

The Circle of Harmony – Second Life thus represents a third chapter in this narrative, a reflection regarding a theme with serious modern-day implications: how to orient the production of furnishings toward a level of sustainability that is consistently more coherent and definitive.

The Circle of Harmony – Second Life, which, under the creative direction of Pasquale Junior Natuzzi, envisions Italian art designer Marcantonio with the Terra pouf and Dutch studio Marcel Wanders studio with the Adam collection.

"Second Life is the concept of the newest collection, a notion guiding the hand of the designers we've collaborated with which embraces our skillful artisans and is so universal that it ideally accommodates everybody," explains Pasquale Junior Natuzzi, Chief Creative Officer of the company. "The goal is to bring life to a more informed design and production process. Creating a timeless beauty capable of crossing time itself. A collection of targeted pieces designed to last a lifetime, with the green idea of reducing pollution, creating materials that get to live an invaluable second life: recycled, reused, rethought; objects where functionality and aesthetics coexist in perfect balance. To live a second life in harmony, at last."

Transformations demand research, planning, consistency, and a certain amount of time for the change to come about. Based on this awareness, The Circle of Harmony – Second Life is actually declared as a manifest intent: via a highly experimental approach, Marcantonio and Marcel Wanders studio were invited to come up with products representative of a potentially new path with a view toward sustainability of materials, the process, and the design.

Innovation and technological research serve as elements to integrate the brand's natural vocation for durability over time: the company's extremely high design quality, in fact, has always gone hand in hand with the creation of products designed to last decades.

Natuzzi Italia which concretely supports the NGO Save the Olives will be showcasing its latest collections in an architectural project, celebrating the culture and ambiance of Puglia, and shall serve as a setting where visitors can discover the timeless beauty of its products that get to live an invaluable second life. Downtown Design is an opportunity for international designers and brands to explore both creative and commercial projects in the Middle East, Asia and Africa. The fair includes a varied programme of workshops and talks as well as installations.
