Minister of Health and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Health Endowment Fund, Dr. Tawfiq Al-Rabiah, has expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Ministry of Energy and major companies operating in the field of oil and gas, renewable energy, electricity and petrochemicals for the self-initiatives of these companies in the effective contribution to support the national health efforts. This came in fulfillment of the speech of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to the society in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in which he called for supporting national health efforts being made to combat this pandemic, and in implementation of the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, and his continuous follow-up regarding coordination and cooperation between various government agencies in this regard, which is culminated in providing 525 million riyals as a support from these companies to the Health Endowment Fund allocated a special account to combat the novel Coronavirus pandemic.
The Health Endowment Fund is a legal personality established by a decision of the Cabinet and aims to enhance the role of society in supporting government efforts in health development.
Minister of Health affirmed that this support comes within the framework of continuous follow-up and great efforts being made by HRH Crown Prince, who leads the blessed efforts by the government and the private sector in the Kingdom in facing this pandemic.
