Lausanne, an already popular destination for families, is adding an original string to its bow: a fun Travel Journal aimed at children aged five to ten who are visiting the Vaud capital. While their parents explore the town’s must-see spots, children amuse themselves thanks to the creative activities offered in the 24 pages of the journal that is illustrated by Albin Christen.
For a child, the visit of a town is packed with novelties and discoveries. To capture this experience and transform it into marvellous memories that he or she can relive once back home, Lausanne Tourisme has created a Travel Journal filled with fun activities.
Explorations, drawings, games, collages and surprises follow the stages of the visit and entertain children aged five to ten while they discover the town’s tourist attractions with their parents. Amongst the must-see locations, the journal suggests activities at the Cathedral, AQUATIS, Place de la Palud, the market, Place Saint-François, Mon-Repos Park, the Musée de l’Élysée, the Olympic Museum and Ouchy.
This innovative Travel Journal comes with a handy kit comprising an ultralight and environmentally friendly pouch to be worn around the neck in the city’s colours, six coloured pencils, a pencil sharpener, a rubber and a tube of glue.
The journal itself, which measures 13 cm by 17 cm (5.1 in by 6.7 in), is printed on thick paper, with a hard cover to make it resistant and easy to use.
Once in the Olympic capital, parents can pick it up in one of our tourist information offices in Ouchy, at the train station and at the Cathedral.
Icing on the cake, the children can send back the postcard at the end of the journal or drop it off in a Lausanne Tourisme information office before October 1, 2019, to take part in a draw to win one of the seven weekends in Lausanne for four people offered by our partners: Hotels AuLac, Angleterre-Résidence, Château d’Ouchy, de La Paix, Mirabeau, Novotel and Royal Savoy.
