After visiting four Arab countries, Prince Muhammad arrives in Argentina

Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman, deputy premier and minister of defense, arrived in Buenos Aires on Wednesday for the G20 summit of industrialized nations.

The Crown Prince was received at the airport by Argentina’s Foreign Minister Jorge Faurie.

The G20 leaders summit begins on Friday.

Saudi Arabia, the only Arab country in the group, will host the summit in 2020, 20 years after the establishment of G20.

A meeting between Crown Prince Muhammad and Russian President Vladimir Putin is scheduled on the sidelines of the G20 summit, the Kremlin said on Wednesday.

US President Donald Trump has also stated that he would be willing to meet the Crown Prince at the summit.

The participation of the Crown Prince at the G20 summit is part of his foreign tour. He has already visited the UAE, Egypt, Bahrain and Tunisia.

Earlier in a cable of thanks to Tunisian President Beji Caid Essebsi after his departure from Tunis, the Crown Prince said the bilateral meetings have further strengthened the strong relations between the two countries and two brotherly peoples.

The Tunisian president decorated the Crown Prince with the Order of the Republic.

He told Al Arabiya News Channel in the presence of Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman that the relations between the two countries are historical.

In his remarks, the Crown Prince reiterated the strong and long relations between Saudi Arabia and Tunisia.

“The Tunisian people have a special place among the Saudi people and the two countries are always working to improve relations for the benefit of the two nations,” the Crown Prince told Al Arabiya.

Saudi Arabia and Tunisia have long had good relations, the Crown Prince told Tunisian state television.

“I can not come to North Africa without visiting Tunisia ... Tunisian president (Beji Caid Essebsi) is like my father,” he said.

G20 Argentina 2018:

Membership of the G20 consists of 19 individual countries plus the European Union (EU). The EU is represented by the European Commission and by the European Central Bank. Collectively, the G20 economies account for around 85% of the gross world product (GWP), 80% of world trade (or, if excluding EU intra-trade, 75%), two-thirds of the world population, and approximately half of the world land area.

UN Secretary General willing to meet Saudi Crown Prince at G20 summit

UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres is willing to meet Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman, deputy premier and minister of defense, when he attends the Group of 20 summit in Argentina, Guterres said on Wednesday.

“I think we are close to (creating) the conditions for the possibility for (Yemen) peace talks to start. And of course Saudi Arabia is absolutely crucial for that purpose, and I’m ready to discuss it with the crown prince or with any other Saudi officials because I believe it is a very important objective at the present moment,” Guterres told reporters.
