Johnson’s Baby Cleans Up the Clutter for Millennial Mums at Exclusive Event

Johnson’s Baby hosted their second exclusive baby care masterclass on baby wipes in Saudi Arabia to educate millennial mothers on how best to care for their baby’s gentle skin. The event brought together a specialist paediatrician, a Johnson’s Baby expert, regional influencers and new and expecting mums to share common concerns about the skincare of babies and the best choices for their wellbeing.

With an overload of information and products available to young parents today, picking a skincare routine best fit for babies, particularly involving baby wipes, is vastly overlooked. Moreover, baby wipes can appear similar in effectiveness, and this can result in the misconception that each wipe does the same job.

The KSA masterclass, held in Jeddah, aimed to dispel these misconceptions and empower new and expecting mothers with a deeper understanding of their baby’s skincare needs.

“The skin woes faced by children in the Middle East are due in particular to the harsh weather, hard water, and general lack of knowledge among new mums on the suitable fabrics and pH level of products,” shared Sarah Kabbani, Brand Manager of Johnson’s Baby Wipes. “What we’ve found is that most moms don’t fully understand the true role baby wipes play in maintaining the health and development of their baby’s skin,” she added.

The interactive session not only discussed the science behind baby wipes, but also tackled some of the common issues that all new mums face with their babies, and how to fix them efficiently.

“A baby’s skin is up to 30 percent thinner than an adult’s, putting them in a much more vulnerable position,” commented Dr. Azhar Mahana, Senior Registrar in Pediatrics and Neonatology, who worked for several hospitals in Saudi Arabia. “Mild wipes have a critical role in maintaining the health of the baby because their skin is very sensitive, thin and fragile and until it is fully developed, it needs special care and protection” added Dr. Mahana.

Attendees to the masterclass also had the chance to discuss and debate solutions to infant skincare issues during an insightful Q&A with the expert panel, addressing the need to make smart choices for the wellbeing of their little ones. The event concluded with a fun baking session at the Chocolate Lab of the host venue, Le Concheur.
