UAE welcomes the introduction of Dubai Font with open arms

Dubai is on the fast lane towards becoming a super tech city in years to come and the introduction of ‘Dubai Font’ reinstates its position as a digital hub, stated by Mirvat Naba, Operations Director of Virtue PR, one of the fastest growing communications consultancies in the Middle East, on the recent launch of Dubai Font - Microsoft’s first typeface to be created for a city and launched by Dubai Crown Prince and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

“Dubai has always been a pioneer for digital revolutions and the implementation of Dubai Font is a testament to the city’s commitment to be ranked first in the digital world. In Dubai, the wise leadership has always focused on using technology to increase effectiveness of performance in achieving happiness and public satisfaction in the society, be it for creating more jobs, more opportunities, creating a safe city or simply creating facilities for people of all ages and nationalities. The digital evolutions have changed not just the national economy, but also established Dubai’s position as a digital hub. The introduction of the Digital Font is part of Dubai’s journey to develop the city economically, socially and technologically,” said Mirvat Naba, Operations Director at Virtue PR

The Dubai Font marks a meticulous design that combines the authenticity of the past and the aspirations of the future, crossing all borders and barriers to give every person, wherever they may be, the means to express themselves. The font is a reflection of the emirate’s new and innovative mark in the digital world, and one that builds a knowledge bridge between the East and West.

"Dubai Font is truly unique. Based on the main pillars that have turned Dubai into a remarkable symbol of success and tolerance, the font displays a deep understanding of the past and future. Taking this as an opportunity, I would like to extend my heartfelt appreciation to Dubai Crown Prince and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum for his new initiative. It is a pleasure to be a part of a city that sets residents’ happiness as key criteria through revolutionary innovations,” concluded Naba.

Designed in both Arabic and English, and extended to include 21 other languages, Dubai Font is the first font in Microsoft applications and solutions to be developed by a city and to carry its name. The Dubai Font is not only a digital typeface used for writing but also a form of communication allowing people around the world to express their personalities and feelings in an ever-evolving digital world.
