Paris-Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi promotes Employability during its “Masters Open House” event

In line with its strategy to attract excellent professionals from the UAE and the region who are looking to enhance their academic and professional journeys, Paris-Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi organized its “Masters Open House” for the fifth consecutive year under the theme “Master your future”. This event took place yesterday at the Atrium, on the campus in Al Reem Island. Students, professors and professionals from different fields and backgrounds participated in the “Masters Open House” event where they had the opportunity to meet with the university’s management, administration and faculty members as well as head of programmes offered.

The Masters Open house is the perfect occasion for interested candidates to have a closer look at the different programmes the university offers and adjust their expectations. The university is also committed to provide the best education to students as well as supporting them after their graduation. The aim is to attract the most talented candidates and give them the chance to learn new skills and develop their knowledge.

Mrs. Michele Anbar Haddad, Head of the executive, graduate and continuing education studies department at Paris-Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi said: “It is always a great pleasure to host prospective students and discuss with them their career aspirations and explore how one of our graduate programmes can help them achieve their professional goals. In addition, completing a master’s program carries with it one important advantage in today’s economy: employability.  Students completing a Master degree in 2017 will have an additional edge as they can improve their competitive advantage when searching for a new job or protecting their existing one. In the next ten years, jobs requiring a Master's degree are growing faster than the growth of any other educational level”.

Mrs. Haddad added: “Other than intense academic programmes, Sorbonne Abu Dhabi offers a cultural experience for the students. Living true to its moto of being a bridge between civilizations, the university offers graduate students cultural learning opportunities as it hosts many artistic French and international events. The student body is very diverse which helps to bring down stigma and prejudice and promotes cultural exchanges and learning. Many graduate students have taken up learning the French language in their spare time as their professional network expands to France through their professors and internships”.

Ms. Mira Al Falasi, one of the participants in the “Masters Open House” event at Sorbonne Abu Dhabi said: “During my participation in this event, I registered in the International Business and Languages master’s programme. It gave me a great opportunity to know more about the university’s facilities, meet the professors and current students. In addition, my friend’s experiences in Sorbonne Abu Dhabi as Master’s students before motivated me a lot to be here today since it is an international renowned university that offers the best education. I believe that the programme I chose will increase my knowledge in the business field locally, regionally and internationally”.

The “Masters Open House” included a number of interactive panel discussions with directors of Masters programmes who presented the different programmes that the university offer as well as the teaching criteria.
