Manzil Healthcare Services – The leading home healthcare provider in the Middle East – highlighted recent advances in patient care at the Home Healthcare Conference in Abu Dhabi. This year’s inaugural conference at the Four Season highlighted key trends and challenges around providing home healthcare, such as Ventilator at Home services and included key stakeholder commentary and panel discussions around how home healthcare can impact and improve patient care, quality of Life for patient’s and reduce healthcare costs. The event aimed to help medical professionals learn about the latest best practices in terms of providing quality care at home as well possible strategies to better coordinate patient care across care settings.
“At Manzil Healthcare Services we are dedicated to improving the quality of Life for both patients and their families,” says Dr Sarper Tanli, Group Chief Executive Office, Manzil Healthcare Services. “By hosting the region’s inaugural Home Healthcare Conference, we hope to have educated carers and medical professionals on the many benefits of home healthcare services and the latest technologies that provide vulnerable patients, such as patients in need of Ventilator at Home services, with the highest quality of care that they need.”
Previously regarded as ‘hospital only’, advances in medical technology mean that Ventilator therapy is now viable for use in patients’ own homes. Manzil Healthcare Services provides the multiple layers of expertise which are essential for safe and effective home Ventilator therapy in the UAE. Ventilator at Home may be suitable for a range of pathological processes and disorders, including those affecting the central nervous system, neuromuscular, skeletal, cardiovascular, and respiratory systems. There are numerous benefits to Ventilator at Home, as opposed to traditional in-patient care, in particular those which affect a patient's quality of life, such as family and community integration, familiar surroundings, more independence, and normal levels of noise and light for increased comfort. Other factors include a reduced risk from hospital-borne infections, substantial cost savings for patients and insurers, and freeing up ICU beds in hospitals for acutely ill patients in need of emergency care.
Rey Spadoni, President of Partners HealthCare at Home, said “We are pleased to collaborate with our colleagues at Manzil Healthcare Services as they work to bring state-of-the-art home health care services to patients throughout the United Arab Emirates. Partners HealthCare at Home is one of the largest home health care organizations in the United States, focusing on disease management, deployment of new and innovative technologies into home settings and launching successful advanced practice nursing programs across the care continuum. Our work has helped lower the total cost of medical care while enhancing the patient experience and improving outcomes. Our work to date with the team at Manzil has focused on sharing our best practices and we are delighted to collaborate with them in presenting our first joint home care conference.”
Chronic illnesses such as diabetes, hypertension and pulmonary disease are particularly prevalent in the region and create a major burden on society and the healthcare system.
