No change in end of service benefits: Ministry

The Ministry of Labor and Social Development denied on Tuesday rumors about changes made in the Labor Law pertaining to the end of service benefits for expatriate workers in the Kingdom.

“There is no truth in reports being circulated that there has been an amendment in the Labor Law to the effect that an expatriate worker will get two-month salary for each year of service as end of service benefit,” the Saudi Press Agency reported quoting Khaled Abal Khail, spokesman of the ministry, as saying.

He clarified that Article 84 of the Labor Law guarantees expatriate worker half a month salary for each year of the first five years of service and one-month salary for each year of the remaining years.

Abal Khail urged all Saudis and expatriates to visit the portal for labor education at the ministry’s website to know about the rights and duties of the workers in the following link http://www.laboreducation.gov.sa/.
