Careers UAE 2015 and Bayt.com to deliver valuable workshop for Emirati nationals
Online Recruitment Specialists to Offer Advice on How to Build a Personal Brand to Boost Career Success
Offering invaluable insights into key aspects of career advancement, Careers UAE 2015 has once again partnered with regional experts including Bayt.com, the leading online recruitment community in the Middle East and North Africa, to educate job-seeking UAE nationals on the importance of proactively building, enhancing and leveraging their personal brand to support their career success.
Taking place from 28 – 30 April at Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), the UAE’s leading recruitment, training and education exhibition for UAE nationals is held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. In addition to securing job interviews with exhibitors and potential employers, serious job-seeking Emiratis will also be able to participate in a series of features and workshops, including How to Use Personal Branding to Boost Your Career, organised in partnership with Bayt.com.
The interactive workshop will focus on the importance of managing one’s online presence to ceate a powerful personal brand that helps business professionals develop a signature image and unique voice - key attributes in finding a competitive edge to stand out from the crowd in today’s hyper-competitive employment market.
“Bayt.com is pleased to partner with Careers UAE to provide job candidates with important insights on how to manage their careers. With 70.5 per cent of professionals saying they have changed their mind about a candidate based on their online presence, the time has never been more pertinent for people in the MENA region to start shaping and monitoring their digital footprint. Developing a strong online personal brand is essential for both job seekers and all ambitious professionals – irrespective of career levels and industry field – seeking to advance through corporate ranks and connect with peers, employers and clients,” said Suhail Masri, VP of Sales, Bayt.com.
“Bayt.com has been serving the region for over 14 years, empowering MENA’s professionals and employers with tools and information to build their lifestyle of choice. Our mission of empowerment, combined with our knowledge of the importance of branding, has resulted in the recently launched Bayt.com Specialties platform which allows people to harness the power of the internet, creating an empowering, sophisticated and customised online professional profile at no cost – with maximum visibility, utility and flexibility.”
Online personal branding is increasingly relevant for Emirati talent seeking meaningful employment, especially when seeking challenging and competitive roles that help shape the country’s future. According to the latest ‘Online Personal Branding as seen by MENA professionals’ poll conducted by Bayt.com in September 2013, 61 per cent of the companies check the profiles of new recruits before making their final hiring decisions, and 92 per cent agree that a good online presence is imperative for securing more interviews and career progression.
Further data from Bayt.com’s ‘Modern Job Search, Career Mobility and the Internet’ poll in October 2013 shows that even with a good CV, an online presence that is methodical and actively managed is essential for successful career development. Almost 50 per cent of people making hiring decisions research job candidates online first, with 80 per cent believing the internet is an important tool for sourcing employees. A further 62 per cent pay attention to online endorsements and recommendations.
Asma Mohammed Al Sharif, Director for Exhibitions, DWTC, comments: “We advise visitors to capitalise on the opportunities at the show, such as Bayt’s How to Use Personal Branding to Boost Your Career workshop. In today’s world, the question is no longer whether you have a digital brand, but whether you choose to channel and cultivate it in the needed direction – as opposed to letting it be defined on your behalf.
“Personal branding is your reputation. At Careers UAE, we seek to equip talented UAE nationals with all the tools necessary to demonstrate their competence and professionalism to potential employers – the ability to showcase what sets them apart from others, and articulate the added value they can bring to any given situation.”
Open to all visitors, the How to Use Personal Branding to Boost Your Career workshop is to be conducted on Tuesday, 28th April 2015, between 9:30am – 11:30am, at DWTC.
