In the era of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz issued a resolution of the Council of Ministers No. 224 in 1428/8/17 e to change the name of the Municipality of Hail to the Secretariat of the Hail region and linked to the municipalities of Hail, Secretary of Hail.
He was the first secretary of the Hail region, Dr. Abdulaziz bin Yusuf Al-Ammar
