Present in Saudi Arabia for almost 40 years, Total has developed a successful and mutually rewarding relationship with national oil company Saudi Aramco, notably in the downstream sector. Total began operating in Saudi Arabia when we signed a crude oil off-take agreement in 1974. We have had a representative office, now located in Al Khobar, in the country since 1978. We entered the downstream sector in the Kingdom in 2007, when we took a 51% share in the SATLUB joint venture, which became Saudi Total Petroleum Products, and which manufactures and retails lubricants and specialty products.
