Meltwater to highlight best practices for social media monitoring and analysis

As social media has become a popular means of communication in the region, governments and companies are increasingly reliant on digital data analysis to communicate with their audience in an effective, meaningful and prompt manner. At the GCC Social Media Summit to be held in Dubai from September 16-17, global media intelligence solutions firm Meltwater will specifically focus on how regional government and healthcare sectors can analyse social media data to create effective communication strategies.

According to Zubair Timol, Area Director for India, Middle East & Africa at Meltwater, “We work closely with many government and healthcare organisations in the region, helping them to monitor and analyse the massive amount of information out in the social media space. Our media monitoring tools break down the data to meaningful information that organisations can then use to create effective marketing and communications strategies to engage with their audience.”

At the ‘Social Media for Local & Federal Government Workshop’ on September 16th, Meltwater’s Abu Dhabi Managing Director, Laila Mousa will present on the importance of having a thorough social media strategy for governments to effectively convey information, reach and resonate with the public. The workshop will discuss real-life cases how social media monitoring can improve citizens’ engagement with governments. During the workshop, practical advice and insights will be provided on the role of social media in attending to the public’s enquiries and complaints as well as preventing and managing communication crisis.

At a workshop for healthcare sector professionals on September 17th, she will talk about the benefits of social media and why it should be an integral part of every communications strategy and how social media monitoring can improve the community engagement experience.

On the second day of the event, Victor Neck, Managing Director, Meltwater Dubai, will be part of a panel discussion on Innovation in Analytical and Measuring Social Tools.  As the number of social media platforms and engagement levels grow exponentially year in and year out – the amount of information that is being put out into the digital world is immense. This discussion will focus on recognising the best tools for listening and monitoring, content management and social analytics, identifying a suite of tools which, together, best address the issues that need solving, utilising these tools to evaluate the effectiveness of social media strategy and using Social Media analytics for social good by combining human and machine computing.
