As part of the ongoing preparations for the implementation of Saudi Arabia’s Project for Utilization of Haj Meat (Adahi) during the 2016 Haj season, Ahmad Mohamed Ali, president of the Islamic Development Bank Group (IDB), will meet with officials in charge of Haj affairs at embassies and consulates in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia today.
The meeting, to be held at the IDB Headquarters in Jeddah, will touch on the objectives of the project and discuss the ongoing arrangements for the 2016 Haj season. In addition, the project new and improved web site, www.adahi.org, will be launched.
The project aims at serving the pilgrims by providing livestock that meet all Shariah and health requirements and ensures the cleanliness of its facilities around the Holy Sites.
The project helps to make the meat available to its rightful beneficiaries among the poor at the Holy Sites as well as beneficiaries in many Muslim countries and Muslim communities all over the world. The Islamic Development Bank manages it since 1983, in cooperation with the relevant authorities in Saudi Arabia.
