The General Authority for Competition (GAC) stated that it is facing some challenges and risks, including the overlap of some government agencies' tasks with its jurisdictions.
Accordingly, this may lead to some obstacles that prevent the authority from carrying out its oversight and supervisory roles.
In its report, GAC added that the challenges and risks include the decisions, regulations and policies issued by some regulatory agencies, which may result in restricting competition or preventing the entry of new establishments into the markets.
This is besides the difficulty of accessing some facilities for the purpose of investigation, research, collecting evidence, as some of these facilities may be fake. In addition, they may not record their addresses in their official registers.
