The finance and manufacturing sectors in Saudi Arabia are the most vulnerable to cyberattacks, Al-Eqtisadiah newspaper reported, citing Samir Omar, CEO of Middle East and North Africa Information Security Conference (MENA ISC).
The finance sector experienced 18.2% of these cyberattacks.
Saudi Arabia leads the Arab world in terms of cybersecurity and ranks second globally in the 2023 Global Cybersecurity Index.
Omar added that while the average cost of a data breach globally is estimated at $4.45 million, this figure is higher in the GCC region, with the average cost of each cyberattack reaching $6.9 million.
