Expo Sharjah discusses future of exhibition industry at UFI Global Congress in Germany

Expo Centre Sharjah, represented by Saif Mohammed Al Midfa, CEO of Expo Centre Sharjah and board member of the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry (UFI), participated in the 91st UFI Global Congress recently held in Cologne, Germany.

 

This participation underscores the Centre’s commitment to ensuring the adoption of the best practices and cutting-edge technologies associated with the global conference and exhibition industry.

 

During the global gathering, Saif Mohammed Al Midfa engaged in discussions with UFI members from around the world, focusing on the advancements and progress achieved in the exhibition industry across various fields.

 

The discussions highlighted revenue growth, activity expansion, and the strategic integration of advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance the services provided to exhibitors.

 

Al Midfa affirmed that Expo Sharjah's engagement in the 91st UFI Global Congress stems from its commitment to adopting the best practices in the global conference and exhibition industry, highlighting the importance of this sector as a key driver of economic growth and diversification.

 

He emphasised the Centre’s objectives of fostering connections with industry leaders, exploring opportunities to enhance services and infrastructure in line with global benchmarks, and strengthening the industry’s role in promoting sustainability. He also stressed the Centre’s efforts to expand collaboration with global exhibition organisers.

 

Al Midfa noted that innovation and sustainability are fundamental pillars for achieving success in the exhibition industry. He highlighted Expo Sharjah's strategic focus on adopting cutting-edge trends and collaborating with industry leaders to refine practices.

 

The Centre continuously leverages advanced technologies to enhance event management and deliver value-added services to its clients and partners, reinforcing its position as a global exhibitions hub that annually welcomes over 2.5 million visitors and thousands of companies and exhibitors from diverse international markets.

 

The 91st UFI Global Congress outlined the recent accomplishments of the global conference and exhibition industry, noting a remarkable increase in the UFI’s revenues alongside expanded operational activities and a growing number of exhibitions and conferences hosted by its members worldwide. These advancements are driven by the sector’s enhanced reliance on modern technologies to optimise performance and efficiency.
