Centro Sharjah Takes Part in Earth Hour

In support of shining a light on climate action, Centro Sharjah took part in the world’s largest climate change campaign, Earth Hour.

Centro Sharjah participated by switching off all non-essential lights at the hotel and using candle lights for one hour. The hotel guests were also invited to play part in this initiative through indulging in a candlelit dinner at the c. taste restaurant and an outdoor movie night by the pool. Hotel colleagues also took time to explain to guests about Earth Hour and its relevance.

 “We believe that change begins with us and the initiatives we implemented to commemorate earth hour demonstrated our support in sensitizing the connect2earth campaign to the community around us, guests and colleagues “, said Mr. Michael Kasch, General Manager. He further added, “Our message to the guests and colleagues was to not only celebrate Earth hour on the given day but take up a best practice that will have a positive impact on the environment.”

Earth Hour is the world's largest grass-roots environmental movement towards action on climate change that is organized by the World-Wide Fund for Nature. It encourages people around the world to switch off non-essential lights for one hour between 8.30pm-9.30 pm every year in March to show their commitment. This year, Earth Hour fell on Saturday, March 24th.
