Africa needs to overcome energy challenges, achieve economic growth: Minister

Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman, Saudi Minister of Energy, said Africa needs to overcome energy challenges, and achieve economic growth and prosperity.

Saudi Arabia will continue to cooperate with African countries to access energy. It will not only be part of the solution, but a model for this solution, he added on the sidelines of the Saudi-Arab-African Economic Conference.

In Africa, the income source is very important to proceed with development programs and plans. People have to get energy and a sufficient amount of income from energy revenues to finance development.

Moreover, Prince Abdulaziz pointed to some initiatives adopted by the Kingdom, such as the Clean Fuel Solution for Cooking solutions as a core element of the Saudi Green Initiative.

A few weeks ago, Saudi Arabia hosted the Middle East and North Africa Climate Week (MENACW). It addressed access to energy, energy poverty, and clean cooking, he added.
