Sajaya Young Ladies of Sharjah (Sajaya), a subsidiary of the Rubu’ Qarn Foundation for Creating Leaders and Innovators (Rubu’ Qarn), will unveil its first operetta performance ‘Dream of Colours’ this Thursday, 12 October, at the Sharjah Cultural Palace theatre.
The musical is a tale of a group of colours that unite to fulfil their dreams, and is aligned with Sajaya’s eagerness to develop talents of their young members in the performing arts, and highlight them through participation in several local and international theatrical events.
The performance will be staged at 6pm, and is open to public attendance. The operetta’s actors and performers will comprise Sajaya’s theatrical team. They will represent six colours; each with a unique dream about how they can make the world a better place.
This theatrical endeavour organised in collaboration with Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services, Sharjah Children’s Centres and the Art for All Centre, reflects Sharjah’s vision to support theatre movement in the UAE, and is a step in realising the UAE Vision 2021 of creating a knowledge-based community that enjoys a strong position in the regional creative arts scene.
Sajaya Young Ladies of Sharjah is a leading organisation dedicated to developing the talents of young girls in the age group of 13-18 years in all creative spheres. Established in 2004 under the umbrella of Sharjah Children’s Centres before it became an independent entity in 2012 following an administrative decree from Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, wife of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah and Chairperson of the Rubu’ Qarn Foundation.
